On-the-Go Breakfast Ideas

Mornings are busy for just about everyone I know.  Taking the time to eat breakfast tends to be the thing people skip the most.  I used to be one of those people but after so many days feeling sluggish or sick because of an empty stomach, I knew I had to take the time to eat something.  And we all know how much it is stressed that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially for kids!

Using Up Our Fresh Peaches

We received a nice basket of fresh peaches the other day and I was wondering what to do with all of them before they spoiled.

First, I went online and found a recipe from Paula Deen for Peaches and Cream Muffins and decided to give that a go.

It tasted very good, but MH said he would have preferred it if I had made them with a streusel topping.

Good to know for the next time.

Home Improvement Done Right

We have been living in our house for about eleven years now.  It was a brand new house, so it hasn't needed a lot of updates, but the porch railings were in desperate need of repair!

Thank goodness MH has a friend that does good work and is dependable and honest.

No more flimsy and twisted boards...  now just a coating of stain and we will be good to go for several more years.

What upgrades have you done to your house this year?

Canagan Grain Free Dog Food - 2 Paws Up

Our two furry girls eat meals twice a day.  Our youngest, Dixie, will eat just about anything, but our oldest, Nellie, has gotten very picky in the past six months.  She snubs food that she used to love.  When I showed her the bag of Canagan Grain Free dog food, she perked up.  Then when I opened it and took out a piece of the heart-shaped dog food, she was acting like she was getting a treat.  That made me feel good.  Of course, Dixie was eager to eat it also.
