Special Candy for Sweet Celebrations from The 5 Almonds

Disclosure:  I participated in this post on behalf of The Five Almonds through BrandBacker, who provided product in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions are my own.

I wish I had known about The 5 Almonds when my niece got married a few years ago.  Many couples place Hershey's kisses in bags or lace and place on tables at receptions, but these candies are made specially for you, making it a more personal experience.  Just look at the photo above.  Wouldn't you love to get or give those as a gift or favor?!  I know I would.

An interesting history was an inspiration to this company, started in 2007, as noted in the bio below:
Les Cinq Amandes’ namesake (The 5 Almonds) has a long history tied to weddings and celebrations. The ancient Romans served Sicilian Almonds coated with honey to wedding guests until the introduction of sugar in the 15th century. During the Italian Renaissance period, Florence, Italy was the major production center of sugared almonds (dragées). The powerful Florentine Medici Family introduced the dragées to all the Royal European courts. In fact, when Catherine de Medicis married the future King Henry II of France in 1533, her chefs dazzled wedding guests with these sweet, flavorful, and crunchy confections: a special candy for special occasions.

Create your own special candies or choose ready made! There is more than chocolate to choose from too.  Flavors such as apple cinnamon and white coconut almondine are two that appeal to me.  Each package also comes wrapped in their Five Wishes paper.  These would make nice holiday gifts too (Easter is coming up fast, hint, hint).  The price is reasonable and I thought they tasted pretty good, even though MH didn't really care for it.  I even had comments on where I got the candy because it was so pretty.
