Milk-Bone Brushing Chews Review & Giveaway

Disclosure:  I participated in this post on behalf of Milk-Bone. The Milk-Bone dog products, information and VISA gift cards (giveaway) have been provided by the Milk-Bone brand.

I have been in New York for several months, helping my younger brother after back surgery.  That means I have not been around my two doggies, Nellie and Dixie, but have had fun playing with the little 'weiner dog', Diego.  He is about three years old and tends to sleep a lot.  He is picky about what he eats also, which is nothing like Nellie and Dixie, who eat just about anything!  Isn't that a cute little face?

I was asked if we would like to try out the NEW Milk-Bone Brushing Chews and I said yes of course! Upon opening the package, Diego was very similar to my dogs; sitting there, waiting to see what was in the package because it smells good.

There were two boxes of the chews- mini and small/medium.  I chose the mini for Diego since he is so tiny.  He was quick to grab the bone and run off.  Too quick for me to get his picture!  I had to wait for another day to be able to get a photo of him with a bone.  He wouldn't cooperate with me at all...turning his head away from the camera, or not holding the bone.  Sound familiar to anyone?

We did have company one day during the week and Diego shared one of his Milk-Bone chews with Minnie, who wouldn't chew the bone while we were visiting, but had to take it home with her...

So, how did he like them?  He was eager to snatch these out of my hand, but hid them around the house and only chewed on them a little bit.  It definitely didn't help his breath since he didn't chew them up.  If you have a really picky eater like Diego, you might want to skip on these.  You may not like some of the ingredients in the chews either, like chicken by-product meal (see ingredient list below).  Make your own judgement in that area.  Now I'm sure Nellie and Dixie would have had theirs gone in no time!

These new bones are shaped different, with a twist on each end and little nubs that help to brush your dogs teeth.  For the Mini chews, it's recommended to feed one treat per day for dogs from 5-24 lb.  It's NOT suitable for dogs less than 5 lb, greater than 24 lb, or dogs less than 6 months of age.  The Small/Medium chews are to be fed once per day for dogs from 25-74 lb.and are NOT suitable for dogs less than 25 lb, greater than 74 lb, or dogs less than 6 months of age.
