Electrical outlets are ugly and if you have little kids, they can be a safety hazard. I've always hated how the cords stick out so far, making it awkward to have items flush to the wall. Or who can forget about all the different cords for the tv, gaming system, etc.?
We have been trying out a product from LivingPlug that is not only functional, but looks good! It comes in two parts: the inlet and the faceplate. You can choose to use just the inlet, which is white and still much better looking than a regular outlet. It has three plugins, a USB port, a button to turn it all off to save electricity, and it is kid friendly.
There are hundreds of Faceplate designs if you choose to use both items together. You can choose by color, style, room, holiday, subject, and designer. I chose Sparky, which reminded me of those fuzzy pompom critters from years ago that everyone had. The dimensions are 5 7/8” H x 5 7/8” W x 3/4” D, so it is pretty big. I couldn't use this on a few of our outlets because of the size.
I really like to see this little guy everyday when I go into the kitchen. It just adds a little something to our boring log walls. My niece thought it was so cute and she loves pink, so I think I will have to order her one for her room. These would make a great gift, especially since you can customize your Faceplate with a picture. Another fun idea, getting a different design for each holiday.
These are easy to use/take apart and put back together and seem to be high quality. Each piece retails for $25 each. To find out more, visit livingplug.com and follow them on Twitter @livingplug, and Facebook /LivingPlug.
