Nellie has a thyroid problem and takes medication for it twice a day. One of the symptoms she has is a very dry and sometimes cracked nose. I've tried many things over the years to make it more comfortable for her, but nothing seems to have that much affect.
Just recently I've used TriDerma's Nasal Dryness Relief ($6.99 - 2.2 oz.). It is a gel formula that is supposed to help nasal dryness, skin chafing, and redness. I like that it is petroleum and fragrance free, so it wouldn't feel bad on her sniffer. The ingredients include: genuine virgin organic aloe vera leaf extract, allantoin, carbomer, sorbitol, and phenoxyethanol, DMDM Hydantoin, and Triethanolamine.
I also tried out the Intense Fast Healing Cream ($24.99 - 4.2 oz.), which is a thick, multipurpose, Cortisone free skin repair cream that is supposed to provide relief for minor to severely damaged skin.
Places like elbows and heels, and on pets - for sores, hot spots, itchy skin or areas where skin is breaking down. I have used it on my heels and elbows off and on. I did notice my skin felt softer and a little smoother, but if I didn't use it everyday, it would be as rough as before I used it.
