I hate having to put new tags (rabies and dog license) on the girls collars.  I always end up chipping or ripping my fingernails.  Every time I have to do it I think - there should be an easier way to do this!  Guess what, there is.  There is a product out there made in the U.S.A. that is called Links-It Pet ID Tag Connectors, which makes it easier to put those awful tags on your pets collar.

The Links-It Pet Tag Connector is diamond shaped with a lock in the middle that secures tags in place. To use just hold it in one hand and pull the lock in the direction of the arrow with the other hand to open it. Up to four tags can be placed onto the bottom half. The top half slips onto the collar D-ring and the lock is snapped back into place.

It took me a little while to get used to using this because it is so small, as you can see in the photo above.  It was much easier getting the tags on there and then attaching to her collar.  It worked pretty good with Nellie because she doesn't get into much trouble and playing around, etc.  Dixie was another story.  Since she goes everywhere, digging, climbing, etc., she ended up breaking hers.  It was a good thing I was watching her or I never would have found her tags.  I would like it if the connectors were more sturdy.  So, use your own judgement as to whether it would be a good choice to use on your pet or not.

Pet Tag Connectors are constructed from DuPont Delrin plastic, come in the colors above and retail for about $7.99 each.  You can purchase them at select veterinarian offices or online at links-it.com.

NOTE:  I was informed that the Links-It pet ID tag connectors are designed to break to protect the dog from injury, if they get caught like Dixie did. If a situation like this does happen, there is a Lifetime Guarantee and the company will send a new one to customers for free if they contact the company!
