Halloween is just twelve days away and that means kids, adults and pets will be getting dressed up in funny, silly, or scary costumes. I have been trying to think of something fun for our girls, but could not come up with anything that I thought would fit our family. That is until I remembered all my old scrubs from work. I knew it would be perfect for Dixie - that is if she would let me dress her. She has a thing about anyone touching her feet or legs, so I was skeptical and crossing my fingers. Surprise of all surprises - she let me dress her up and actually sat there for me! Too bad she was so preoccupied with what Nellie was doing that her head kept moving. This was the end result...
She hid her back feet and looked away just as I was clicking the button. I think she could have been a good nurse. All ready with her stethoscope and cute Peanuts Halloween themed scrubs. Nellie wouldn't let me dress her up. She has gotten very particular in her old age. I did get a photo of her in her box and had to edit it to make a fun Halloween photo for us to hold onto. After doing that, I had to make another one for Dixie, which we have placed on our refrigerator.
If you dress your pets up for Halloween, you should take a photo and enter it into Safeway's Hairy 'n Scary Foto contest - in partnership with Nestle Purina - on Facebook or Twitter to help out local shelter pets! One winner will receive a $250 donation and 10 bags of Purina ONE and another 10 bags of Purina Cat Chow donated to their local, non-profit, accredited animal shelter, in their name. You have until October 31st to enter. Make sure you use the hashtag #hairynscary when posting your photos. While there, check out all of the cute photos that have been posted already. It will put a smile on your face.
