The New English Standard Version Journaling Bible

I am a person who thinks you can never have enough Bibles.  Are you the same way?  I have used the Amplified version the most over the years because it is so descriptive.  The easier it is to understand the better!  My latest addition is an ESV Journaling Bible from Crossway, published in September 2015.  Here is what they have to say:

The English Standard Version Journaling Bible provides the perfect way for you to keep a journal of your spiritual life right inside the Bible that you read and study each day. With covers and formats that look like the finest journals, the Journaling Bible features two-inch ruled margins for writing observations, reflections, prayers, praises, notes, and journal entries. This unique Bible makes a great gift and lasting keepsake for anyone who values God's Word.  The features include:

  • 1088 Pages
  • Black letter text throughout
  • Double-column, paragraph format
  • Cream-colored paper
  • 2" ruled margins
  • One-Year Bible Reading Plan
  • Introductions and section headings for each Bible book
  • 7-point text size
  • 7.50" x 6.50" x 1.50"
  • Words of Christ in Black

I like that this Bible comes in a cardboard sleeve that keeps it clean and safe and it has a decorated cloth cover.  The handy ribbon makes it easy to keep my place while reading and the space to write notes on each page is nice, even though it is a bit on the small side.  At the back of the Bible is an index and a format to read through the book in a years time.  What I didn't like is the very small print.  For those with trouble reading close-up, you will definitely need to wear your glasses!

This new ESV Journaling Bible retails for $37.99 and can be purchased at Christian bookstores nationwide, or online.  To find out more, visit the website at CrossWay.org and follow them on social media at:

  11. I like the idea of having spacs to jot down notes. My current Bible does not have enough space to make notes. If I won this Bible I would give it as a gift to someone because the print is too small for me.
