I'm not a young chicky anymore but I do have breakouts from time to time, especially if I use a different cleanser or moisturizer on my face.  Makeup is even worse - less is more for me.  I like natural products, but sometimes "natural" isn't really natural.  That is why I was happy to find out about the Neutrogena Naturals line of skincare products.

They are made using pure ingredients (up to 94%) - plant-derived, like coconut, olive oil, Yerba Mate tea, Peruvian Tara seed - without any of that bad stuff like sulfates, parabens, petrolatum, dyes or phthalates.  It actually helps take care of your skin and keep it healthy.

Neutrogena also uses 100% recycled paper for their cartons, which uses 70% less water in processing than virgin paperboard does and the website uses a Green Server that only uses renewable energy.  I had never heard of that term before but found it interesting.  You can read the full story on the website.

Some of the Neutrogena Naturals skin care products include the Purifying Facial Cleanser, Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Moisturizer and Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.  As you can see in the photo above, the Neutrogena purifying facial cleanser  ($7.99) is not super sudsy, which is a good thing.  It is a clear gel in a handy pump bottle that cleans my face completely without making it breakout or feel tight and dry, just clean and fresh.  It uses Willowbark bionutrients (highly concentrated chemical compounds found in nature, like Vitamin C, B, E) that contain natural salicylic acid that removes oil, dirt, makeup and detoxifies skin.

The Neutrogena multi-vitamin nourishing moisturizer is my favorite product of all three!  It has a rich, creamy texture that leaves my skin super soft.  After applying, it feels a little heavy to me, but then soaks in and I forget it is there.  It is one of the best moisturizers I have used in a long time and the price is another good thing ($12.99).  It is fortified with antioxidants and Vitamins C, B, E, to moisturize all day and boost your skin against dullness and roughness.  It uses Inca Ichi Oil, which helps restore your skin's natural moisture barrier and anti-inflammatory property.  The Peruvian Tara Seed helps prevent dehydration and the Yerba Mate Tea Leaf helps quench radicals from pollution and the sun.

The last product I used is one of the most convenient for those times when I am in a hurry - Neutrogena purifying makeup remover cleansing towelletes.  They are a good size soft textured wipe that removes dirt and makeup, leaving my skin feeling clean and smooth.  It even gets rid of the oil that develops on my forehead and nose area, something that is hard to do with some wipes.  I like the nice clean scent also.  They are made using 97% naturally derived ingredients and retail for $7.49 for a 25-count resealable package.

You can purchase all three of these Neutrogena products at Target, both in store or online - for those who aren't close to a physical store:

*Purifying Facial Cleanser $6.99 for 6 fl. oz.
*Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Moisturizer $9.89 for 3 Fl. oz.
*Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes $6.99 for 25

Kristen Bell, Neutrogena's Brand Ambassador, has a few Beauty Tips:

  • As told to InStyle.com: "The shifts I’ve made towards being more eco-friendly aren’t monumental, and they don’t have to be a total overhaul. It shouldn't scare people. For example, I try to limit my showers to 3 minutes; one long song and you’re done. I do 4 things in the shower: I use soap, shampoo, conditioner, and brush my teeth. Most of the time, it’s all done simultaneously!”
  • As told to PopSugar.com: “I really like the Neutrogena Naturals line because there's a minimal amount of ingredients. It's really pure and natural. I live by the Purifying Facial Cleanser — I use it every single night. I use it either with my fingertips or a little wooden natural bristle brush, and then I use the Multivitamin Nourishing Moisturizer. And that's pretty much it.”
  • As told to UsMagazine.com: “I always wash my face before I go to bed with the Naturals cleanser….Consistency and simplicity is what my skin really, really responds to.”
