During a hot shore summer, Julie Seevers, the owner of a local herb shop, is struggling to run her demanding business while managing a family of five and keep her failing marriage afloat.
Meanwhile, summer assistant Tabs Tucker, a misanthropic teen, has set out on a journey to uncover the mystery of who her father is.
But when Tassie, the town’s oldest living resident and clairvoyant, suggests they have a séance to get some answers, they discover much more than they ever expected.
The suspense grows when a newcomer to town enters the shop - and all of their lives forever. Soon, they find themselves on a twisted path of betrayal, lies and murder.
Katherine Winfield is a seventh-generation Washingtonian currently residing on a farm nestled in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She has been writing for more than thirty years, all while running a business with her husband, raising three kids and caring for countless animals.
I have not read the first book in this series, which has different characters, so that doesn't matter. It starts out with a bang and then lays out the story. I enjoyed each character but liked Tassie the most.
With age comes wisdom, and she had plenty to give... not that all of them listened to it. This book is about relationships and the things some people will do to keep them.
There is also a mystery... who killed several people? I had guessed and was wrong several times. A very nice read. I Rated This Book: 4/5 Stars ✽✽✽✽
